Just got back from a great time attending the Kansas Bluegrass Association Winterfest in Wichita, Kansas. A very well run festival that is geared towards jamming of attendees. Found a variety of jam sessions including Bluegrass (of course), Jazz/Swing, and even found a group reading Classical pieces! Many members of the performing bands joined attendees in jam sessions. Of special mention was a great activity for young and old alike: a ‘musical instrument petting zoo,’ hosted by a very talented and kind local musician, Erin Mae.
